The Knead It! Team

Let us introduce ourselves…

As villagers ourselves, we struggled to find good bread and felt that Tiddington “kneaded” (excuse the pun) a local bakery.  So here we are – your local, artisan bakery in School Lane baking for you, our local community. Take the short walk down the lane towards the river, you’ll find us in the last thatched cottage on the right – come round to the back-door or simply follow the smell of freshly-baked bread…

Jane

Jane grew up in Tiddington and attended the village schools. After spending time away studying and working, she returned to the village and has worked locally for the past 20 years. She has now lived in two of the thatched cottages in School Lane, the current one (No 21) has been a labour of love in terms of renovation of both the cottage and garden. When not baking, she enjoys long country walks and generally being outdoors.  Jane is a great dog-lover and is always pleased to meet your four-legged friends – there’s even a drink and a hook in the garden to secure your pooch while you select your breads!  Much as we love dogs, please park them outside (unless they are Assistance Dogs) as they will be very tempted to sniff the loaves on the shelves!

Craig

Craig hails from Manchester and is possibly one of Man City’s most loyal supporters. He’s always willing to chat about his passions of football, golf, sailing, gardening and, of course, baking – sourdough is his speciality!

Contact Craig

Jane and Craig both enjoy baking and cooking and embarked upon a series of classes to develop their skill in baking good, wholesome bread using only natural ingredients. They enjoy creating new flavours and experimenting with ingredients – you’ll get to taste some as they feature in the “Weekly Specials”. We welcome you into our kitchen and garden and look forward to sharing our home-baked breads and cakes.

There are no additives or chemical preservatives added to our bread – just flour, salt, yeast and water, a whole lot of love and attention.  Any additions or flavourings are natural such as herbs, spices, milk, butter, olive oil, cheese, fruit and nuts.

People we think you Knead to know!

Thank you for a really wonderful experience on your course - I loved every minute of it and came away a lot wiser on bread matters than I started. The timing of the day was perfect.
